Redesigned by Cut Once: PA College of Health Sciences Magazine
Now part of Penn Medicine, Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences is South Central Pennsylvania’s only college focused exclusively on health sciences, with more than two dozen academic programs serving 1,700+ students. Throughout the past century, PA College has grown from one nursing program with a handful of students to a thriving college offering more than 14 degree programs.
PA College launched inPractice magazine in 2014 with the aim of building connections with alumni and other stakeholders. Within a few years, the internal team realized the need to outsource the editorial production of each issue. College leaders turned to Cut Once to lead a redesign and re-thinking of the publication’s editorial structure and to assume ongoing editorial management.
PA College partnered with Cut Once to raise the college’s institutional profile within the region and beyond, by showcasing the College’s “unparalleled” curricular offerings (in both nursing and health science programs) and its commitment to student-centered learning. To achieve this mission, we led the redesign of inPractice, Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences magazine. The newly conceived magazine, which debuted in Spring 2019, is now re-branded as PA College: Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences Magazine.
Cut Once continues to produce publication, ensuring consistency across technical design layout, story ideation, imagery development, budget management, production, strategic planning, and more.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL
Given limited staffing resources and full plates in our office, we recently decided to partner with Greg Bennett and Cut Once to provide assistance with and management of the production of our College’s magazine. In addition, he and his team helped us with a total overhaul of the publication that included a new name for the piece, masthead, and strategizing a new editorial blueprint for the content.
We have been thrilled with the results so far and how easy it is to work with Cut Once. Everyone here at the College loves the new look and content and they feel that we’ve really elevated the piece to a whole new level. Cut Once definitely brings a lot of knowledge and experience to the table as well as a very strategic and structured approach to the magazine. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Cut Once on our College’s most important communication tool.
